🎨 About Me
Who I Am
Hi, I’m Kylan Persons, a Creative Development Coach dedicated to helping people find and express their inner artist.
I hold an A.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences, a B.A. in Psychology, and I’m completing my M.A. in Psychology (expected 2026). My academic grounding in human growth and motivation shapes how I approach creativity—not as a natural born talent, but as a path to confidence, expression, and self-discovery.
Alongside my education, I bring years of experience as an artist and collaborator. I’ve painted murals, built a life-sized cardboard castle, designed websites and logos, played stringed instruments, worked in graphic design, painted in acrylics and pastels, sketched, journaled, and written poetry. My creative journey has shown me how art opens doors for people to know themselves more fully.
What I Do : 1 on 1 Coaching
I help people unlock their creativity and build confidence through both individual coaching and community experiences. My work isn’t about “being good at art” — it’s about finding your voice, breaking through blocks, and experiencing the freedom of creation.
In practice, that means:
-
Helping artists past blocks: supporting writers, painters, and musicians in starting, finishing, or rediscovering their projects.
-
Guiding non-artists into creativity: showing people who don’t consider themselves “artistic” how creativity already lives in their lives, and how to express it with confidence.
-
Building creative direction: helping people explore artistic outlets, pursue their craft professionally, or reconnect with the joy of making.
-
Finding yourself in your art: using creativity as a mirror to deepen self-awareness and growth.
✨ My motto: It’s not about talent — it’s about freedom, connection, and confidence.
Workshops & Community
-
Workshops: Hands-on sessions in painting, journaling, mixed media, and more — each designed to build practical tools and creative confidence.
-
Groups: Weekly Creative Meetups (Free): Open gatherings to connect, share inspiration, and build community through creativity.
Who I Work With
-
Children & Youth: Nearly 2 years as a Substitute Teacher and Instructional Aide supporting students with diverse needs (autism, ADHD, emotional/behavioral challenges). Creative projects often became the bridge for growth and confidence.
-
Neurodivergent Individuals: Nearly 4 years working with neurodivergent youth and adults at Achievement House, the school district, and in care settings — where creativity often built independence and self-expression.
-
Seniors: My 2 years as a Home Care Provider showed me the joy and purpose creativity brings in later life.
-
Adults: Through roles in both professional and community settings, I’ve seen how careers and responsibilities bury creativity — and how coaching can help uncover it again.
Why Work With Me
-
Educational Foundation: A.A. in Social & Behavioral Sciences, B.A. in Psychology, M.A. in Psychology (in progress).
-
Inclusive Experience: Years supporting children, adults, seniors, and neurodivergent individuals.
-
Artistic Background: From painting murals to writing poetry, I’ve worked alongside and supported painters, musicians, storytellers, and performers.
-
Belief in Universal Creativity: A plumber solving a tricky leak, an accountant balancing books, a chef layering flavors, a teacher designing a lesson — all are acts of artistry.
Creativity is everywhere. My role is to help you recognize it, unlock it, and live it with confidence.
